Margo Sheets Sumrell

Margo Sheets Sumrell, 75 passed away peaceful on November 25th at her home in Boone, NC surrounded by loved ones.
Margo was born on November 5th, 1949 in Laurel Springs, NC to the late Greer and Lora Sheets. She was the 5th of 7 sisters.
Margo is survived by her loving husband Drew Sumrell, her daughter Jacqueline Shortt (JJ), her husband Denny and granddaughter Lizzy. She has two step children, Logan Sumrell, wife Joyce and grandson Brantley. Lauren Myer, husband Brian and grandchildren Cameron and Roan. She is survived by three sisters Bobbie Sheets, Libby Hoffman and Margaret Blevins. She was preceded in death by sisters Mary June Sheets, Judy Walker, and Teri Roten.
Margo was a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne University. She was a devoted elementary school teacher loved by her students and co-workers. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and was a lover of animals.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 6th at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Glaize, Rev. Patti Connelly, Rev. Jim Hoffman, and Speaker Christy Henson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the celebration of life.
