Marguerite A. Altman

Marguerite A. Altman, age 97, passed away at her Neshannock Township home Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Born June 2, 1928, in Jeannette, PA, she was the daughter of Edward George Murrman and Pauline Emma (Monahan) Murrman.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Richard Altman, whom she married May 8, 1954 in the Sacred Heart Church in Jeannette.

A graduate of Jeannette High School, she was employed by Westinghouse and Jeanette Glass. She later became a homemaker, raising her four daughters. She kept busy with her varied interests. Among them were gardening, painting, reading, shopping, walking, word and jigsaw puzzles. She prided herself on being able to learn to play the piano by ear. Her greatest joy was family get togethers for Christmas, picnics, her birthday and traveling to Virginia Beach.

She is survived by four daughters, Michelle (David) Hanko, Dr. Maureen Altman, Dr. Carolyn (Keith Solomon) Altman and Susanne (Stephen) Weygandt; one brother, Rev. Warren Murrman O.S.B; nine grandchildren, Daniel (Naomi), Luke, Andrew (Jamie), Jacquelyn, Rachael (Barry), Michelle (Grant), Scott, Jennifer and Katherine; and seven great grandchildren, Helena, Hailey, Evan, Naomi, Emmaline, Arlo and Gunnar.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 15, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Holy Spirit Parish, 124 N. Beaver Street, New Castle, PA.

Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery in Latrobe.
