Marguerite "Susan" Cei

Marguerite "Susan" Cei, of Horsham, PA, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025. She was 78 years old. Born on February 21, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the loving daughter of Mary Rose Spanogle and William Joseph Gourley.
Susan grew up with a strong love of swimming, training for hours a day as a teen. She went on to become a coach and found great joy in teaching young children with disabilities at the "Y." Just the same, she developed a love for cooking at a young age and eventually sought out formal training in the culinary arts. Sue was a successful chef in several establishments and in later years, devoted her time to many Philadelphia church rectories as chef.
In her quieter moments, Susan loved spending time at the beach and was an avid reader and writer. Those close to her could always find a book by her side and her writing on anything she could. But perhaps what her family knew and loved most about her was that her children and grandchildren were the center of her world. She would completely light up at their sight. She was caring, loving, and extremely generous, giving anything she could. She was extremely loved and will forever be missed.
Susan was the loving mother of Donna (Joe), Tom (Tara), Alisha, and Tara (Dan); devoted Grandmom to Joe (Melissa), Tyler, Amanda, Tom, Brendan, Olivia, Zoey, Melissa (Anthony), Dan (Alex), Colin, Mark, Liam, and Brianna; and Great-Grandmom to Raelynn, Haisley, Kalista, Aaralynn, Anthony, and Dominic. In addition to her cherished parents Mary Rose, and William Joseph, she was predeceased by her brother Allen and sisters, Patricia and Marta.
Family and friends are invited to Susan's Life Celebration on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 10:30-11:30am at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30am.
Inurnment at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
