Worcester-Marguerite A. Markarian, 91, passed away Monday, August 25 in the Christopher House with her cousin by her side.
She leaves many cousins and close friends. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Peter and Margaret (Kalashian) Markarian and graduated from Bartlett High School.
Marguerite was a buyer for the former Woolworths Department Store. She enjoyed playing whist, crocheting, drawing and art. Her family owned and operated the Velvet Ice Cream Shop for many years, a place she had great family memories of.
A Visiting Hour will be held Tuesday, September 2 from 10-11am in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St. followed by a Funeral Service at 11am in the church. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Marguerite’s church in her memory.
