Marguerite Sheflott, 101, formerly of New London, CT, and Fort Myers, FL, passed away in Attleboro, MA, on October 2, 2025.

Born in Mystic, CT on November 7, 1923, she was the daughter of Sylvester and Eleanor (Rattigan) McNeill. She wed her high school sweetheart, Harold Sullivan, in 1943. They were married for 6 weeks before he died in service during World War II. She then married Robert Sheflott, and they were married for 47 years until his passing in 1994.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Tray; grandson, Matthew Tray; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Caitlin and Kevin Lee; great-grandchildren, Ian, Connor, Benjamin, and Elizabeth Lee; brother, Charles; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Beverly McNeill; many beloved nieces and nephews; and friends in Florida, Connecticut, Vermont, and Massachusetts.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Betty Lamb, Frances Gillen, and Claire Russell; her niece Judy Gillen Schott; her brothers and sisters-in-law; and many friends.

Marguerite was also predeceased by her beloved dog, Molly. She adopted Molly in 2003, and her dog was a part of her life for 19 years. Her neighbors in Florida fondly remember Marguerite riding on her three-wheeled bike around the neighborhood with Molly in the basket.

Marguerite was a strong, independent, and caring woman. She was the first person in her family to get a driver's license and buy a car. She even lived independently and drove a car until she was 99 years old. Throughout her life, she was always ready to help her family and friends in an emergency situation. She showed strength and resilience through many of life's trials, and her faith never wavered.

Marguerite was skilled in needlepoint, and many people have been blessed by her artwork. She was also known as "the puzzle lady" at her last residence, Brookdale of Attleboro. She worked at the puzzle table every day, and if someone stopped to chat, her rule was they had to put in two pieces before they could leave. She made many friends this way.

Marguerite was a woman of deep faith, and it is a great comfort knowing that she is home with the Lord. She will be dearly missed by those she has left behind.

A graveside service will be held for Marguerite on Tuesday, October 7 at 11 am at St. Mary's Cemetery in New London. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CT Animal House online or to PO Box 343 Waterford, CT, 06355.
