Maria "Blanche" Albert

Maria "Blanche" Daigle Albert, 96, passed away on December 4, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Born in Lille, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Pea Jules and Jeannette (Collins) Daigle Tardif.
Blanche moved to Connecticut at the age of 18 and lived in her home in Manchester for 74 years. Widowed at the age of 28 with four young daughters, Blanche was selfless and worked tirelessly to support her family. Over the years she held many jobs, spending the longest part of her career as a bookkeeper and receptionist for Guy Daigle Hardwood Flooring and later at Mal Tool Engineering. A strong believer in the power of education, she often worked two jobs to help ensure that all four of her daughters could attend college.
Blanche had a deep and enduring faith. After retiring, she attended Sunday and weekday Mass regularly and served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister at Assumption Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and offered her help willingly, often before being asked. She also found joy in gardening, tending her plants with the same care and devotion she showed to her family. Her sense of responsibility was unmatched, and she cared for everything she owned with meticulous attention.
She is survived by her daughters Denise Ryan and her husband Michael, Renee Zerio and her husband Danny, and Lucie Carangelo and her husband Jim; her grandchildren Matthew (Kristin), Patrick (Katie), Catherine, Jimmy, Jack, Zack, and Tyler; and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dear sister Muriel Roy and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Luc Albert; and by her partner of more than 40 years, Ely Kasparian, who lovingly stepped into the roles of stepfather and grandfather; her daughter Jacqueline; her brothers Roland, Guy, Patrick, and Raymond; and her sisters Yvette, Jacqueline, and Viola.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics Glastonbury (c/o Kris-Ann Race, 62 Russett Road, Glastonbury, CT 06033).
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street in Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, 27 Adams Street South, with burial at St. James Cemetery.
