Maria Assunta Antonellis (Cedrone), 97, of Newton, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of December 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 15, 1927 in Newton, Massachusetts, to the late Dominick and Donata Cedrone (Gallo), Maria lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and devotion to her family.
Maria's warmth, generosity and love of life was infectious and touched everyone who knew her. She found joy in simple pleasures. Spending time with loved ones, playing cards, cheering on the Boston Celtics, and occasional visits to the casino. Her presence brought comfort and joy, her humor, spirit and resilience leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Maria is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Jennifer Blakely and her husband Thomas of Newton; her cherished grandchildren Thomas R. Blakely II and Rebecca Blakely of Newton, MA. In addition, she leaves behind her son Kenneth and his family, along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved siblings, Joanne Civetti, Catherine Clemente and Anthony Cedrone.
A Memorial Mass in honor of Maria's life will be held on Monday, January 6th at 10 AM at Boston College Simboli Chapel, located 9 Lake Street Boston, MA. 02135. Interment will be held privately for her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, 28 Commonwealth Avenue, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467
