Maria Mercedes Aviles-Singh

December 4, 1960 – September 2, 2025

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria Mercedes Aviles-Singh, who transitioned peacefully on the morning of September 2nd, surrounded in spirit by her family's love.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, Maria was known for her strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones. She carried a light that touched every heart she encountered - a mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt and friend whose love was endless and unconditional.

She will be remembered most for her laughter, her nurturing spirit, and the way she always put family first. Even in times of hardship, she carried herself with grace and gave her love freely.

Maria leaves behind her beloved husband Rafi Singh, her cherished children Gicel, Ashley, Rafi, Sade, Alyssa, and Javed; as well as 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind 11 siblings and countless memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

In her heavenly homecoming, Maria is joyfully reunited with her first-born son, Frankie, her parents Rafael and Rafaela, and sister Lucy whom she has longed to embrace once more.

Her legacy of love, resilience, and care will continue to guide and protect her family, even from beyond. Though she has departed from this physical world, her spirit remains ever-present, watching over those she loved so deeply.

A viewing will be held at O'Boyle Funeral Home in Bloomfield, New Jersey on September 5, 2025 from 4pm-8pm. The church service to honor her life will be held at St. Peter's in Belleville, New Jersey on September 6, 2025 at 11am. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts.
