Maria Ayllon (nee Hernandez) (also lovingly referred to as Maggie, Margot, & Margarita) of Orlando, FL peacefully passed away with her daughters by her side on July 30, 2024, at the age of 80 years young. Loving wife of the late Eduardo Ayllon; devoted mother of Margrett Guagliardo (Codi "John") and Margie Ayllon; cherished grandmother of Maryelen and Michael Guagliardo; dear sister survived by Jose Hernandez and Mary Hernandez and preceded in passing by 3 brothers and 4 sisters; treasured Aunt, Cousin, Sister-in-law and Friend.
Maggie was born on March 25, 1944, in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. She was the youngest of 10 and grew up in the countryside of Puerto Rico where her brothers and sisters as well as nieces and nephews, who were close in age, remember a simple childhood full of adventure and outdoor fun and games. She spent some time as a young adult in Chicago, IL where some of her older siblings had established their lives. However, she followed her calling in life and spent a considerable portion, over a decade, of her early adult life as a Christian Missionary and Singer. She played a lead & instrumental role in outreach campaigns with Ministerio Cristo Viene (Christ is Coming Ministry), a prominent Puerto Rico based Ministry, travelling throughout much of Central and South America as well as some communities in the United States.
Maggie was most notably known for her beautiful singing voice. In the 1970s, she recorded 4 records which included 40 songs, mostly originals, of which 7 were written by her. She performed these songs throughout her international travels with a musical trio as well as various polished musicians. She was regarded by many as a talented singer who made an impact in the lives of so many.
Maggie married Eduardo Ayllon on June 14, 1980, in Puerto Rico and later moved their young family to Central Florida where they raised their daughters. She would host some of the best, most memorable, and extravagant birthday parties for her girls with a lot of great care to detail including outfits, spectacular cakes, décor and party favors that made her daughters feel special and cherished. Living in Central Florida and having a large extended family meant many wonderful visits to theme parks with her girls and many loved ones who treasured the remarkable hospitality she provided during many visits. She was often referred to as a second mother to many of her nieces and nephews as well as other loved ones. There were also many road trips with her immediate family across many parts of the country that provided both a fun and educational opportunity which her daughters will value for life.
Maggie was very involved in her church community, always participating and leading theatrical performances. Throughout the years, she also wrote a lot of poetry that she would narrate and that was also used at various events by others. She was always very caring and generous; and even in her later years she looked after her peers, making sure their personal and health needs were met. She was also very skilled in the kitchen & greatly enjoyed cooking and preparing meals. She took great joy in feeding family and friends. Her grandkids were the stars of her eyes, they have many fond memories together, some of which include cooking with her. They always requested her roast pork with rice and beans; she was always thrilled to fulfill those requests. They immensely loved & will always cherish their grandmother.
A celebration of life for Maggie is scheduled for Thursday, August 15th at ICP Church. The ceremony will start at 3 pm, public viewing 4-6 pm with a fellowship reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Maggie's life. Maggie's favorite color was purple and she loved butterflies those attending are encouraged to wear something representative of those favorite items.
