Maria "Lola" Beres

Maria "Lola" Béres, age 76 of Britton passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Arbor Hospice in Saline. She was born September 8, 1946 in Timisoara, Romania, a daughter of the late Teodor and Pirosca (Kovacs) Ivascu.
Lola was a member of the Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Monastery in Clinton. She loved spending time outside gardening, most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild.
Lola is survived by her husband, Andras; her children, Stefan (Gabriela) Béres of Britton and Maria (Michael) Woods of Milan; five grandchildren, Amanda Mitchell, Gordon Woods, Andrew Béres, Sarah Béres and Raymond Woods; a great grandson, Gary Mitchell; nieces, Alina Boudi, Laura Ashley (Andrew) and family, Viorica Borca and family; nephews, Gabriel Ivascu, Karol Oroszi and family; and cousin Vasile Ivascu and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lucian George Ivascu.
Visitation for Lola will be from 4-7 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes with a Prayer Service at 7 pm. Funeral services will be 10 am on Monday with Bishop Irineu Duvlea presiding. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
A Mass will be held at 11:30 am on October 2, 2022 at Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Monastery in Clinton, with a memorial service at 12 pm. A luncheon will follow the service at 12:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Monastery.
