Maria Bieszczad Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial - Bower Rose Funeral Home - Marine City on Apr. 29, 2024.
Maria Bieszczad, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024, at Visions Adult Foster Care in St. Clair, Michigan. Born on November 14, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, Maria was the cherished daughter of the late Bartolo and Angeline (Piazza) Catanese. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the warmth of family, which she nurtured until her last breath at the age of 86.
Maria's love extended beyond her immediate family. She was a pillar of strength and comfort to all who knew her, always ready with a warm meal or a listening ear. Her passion for cooking and baking was only matched by the love she poured into every dish, a legacy of flavors and memories that her family will cherish forever.
In her life, Maria embodied the virtues of being loving, thoughtful, and kind. These words were not merely descriptors but the principles by which she lived every day. She had the remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and loved, a gift that made her a treasured friend and confidant to many.
As we remember Maria, we are reminded of the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Maria may not have sought the spotlight, but she did countless small things with great love, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
Maria is survived by her devoted sons, Todd (Kristin) Bieszczad of St. Clair and Joe (Tammy) Bieszczad of Lapeer; her adored grandchildren, Courtney, Tyler, Joey, and Zack.; and her sister, Angie Bate of St. Clair Shores; Her life was further enriched by her marriage to the late Theodore Bieszczad on October 5, 1963, in Detroit, a union that was filled with joy until his passing on May 15, 2015.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore, and her brothers, Tom and Leo Catanese. Her spirit, however, will live on through the stories told by her grandchildren, the recipes passed down through generations, and the countless memories shared by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Mass of Ressurection will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady on the River Parish Holy Cross,610 S Water St, Marine City, MI 48039. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place privately at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arragements were entrusted to Grace Memorial of Marine City.
