With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Elena Chavarin on November 17, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on March 24, 1938, in Tamazulita, Jalisco, Maria Elena was the beloved daughter of Pedro and Maria Sara Chavarin. Her life was a testament to resilience, love, and an unwavering faith.
Maria Elena married Luis Ruelas, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond until his untimely passing. Together, they built a family that became her greatest pride. She was the devoted mother of ten children and faced unimaginable heartbreak in having to say goodbye to six of them. Yet through it all, she remained a pillar of strength, inspiring all who knew her.
She will be dearly missed by her four surviving children- Manuel, Chuy, Pedro, and Yesi-along with her countless grandchildren and great grandchildren, who cherished her as their guiding light. She was also a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, whose kindness and sharp wit left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Maria Elena was known far and wide for her unparalleled cooking. No matter how hard others tried, no one could replicate the magic she brought to her meals. Her kitchen was a place of love and laughter, where memories were made and flavors became family traditions.
Her humor and quick wit were legendary. Whether offering a sharp reply or a warm smile, Maria Elena had a way of lighting up a room. She was as tough as she was loving, a testament to her character and the stories shared by those lucky enough to have been part of her life.
Though we mourn her loss, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. We take solace in her faith and the belief that she has been reunited with her parents, her husband, and the five children who preceded her in passing.

Nacida el 24 de marzo de 1938 en Tamazulita, Jalisco, María Elena era la amada hija de Pedro y María Sara Chavarin. Su vida fue un testimonio de resiliencia, amor y una fe inquebrantable.
María Elena se casó con Luis Ruelas, con quien compartió un vínculo profundo y duradero hasta su fallecimiento prematuro. Juntos, construyeron una familia que se convirtió en su mayor orgullo. Fue la madre devota de diez hijos y enfrentó un dolor inimaginable al tener que despedirse de seis de ellos. Sin embargo, a pesar de todo, siguió siendo un pilar de fortaleza, inspirando a todos los que la conocieron.
