Maria De Jesus Zubia, a cherished soul whose laughter and love for life echoed in the hearts of all who knew her, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, in Odessa, Texas. Born on June 2, 1972, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, Maria's journey began as a beacon of joy and family devotion, qualities that she carried throughout her life.

Maria's spirit was a vibrant soul with love of her family. She was a beloved mother to three sons, Luis Galindo and his wife, Jasmin, Abel Cuellar and his wife, Destiny, Arturo Cuellar Jr., and two daughters, Victoria Lozano and her husband, Heriberto Salcido Jr., and Adriana Galindo. Her legacy lives on through her sixteen adoring grandchildren, Cesar, Athena, Penelope, Ariel, Azalea, Ava, Luis, Ezael, Everleigh, Anayeli, Edel, Lylah, Janeli, Ximena, Ruby, and Jose III., each of whom brought immense joy and purpose to her life.

The oldest of seven siblings, Maria was a sister full of life and laughter. She is survived by her loving parents, Crispin Franco Zubia and Josefina Orona Zubia; her caring brothers, Crispin Zubia Jr., Carlos (Alexandra) Zubia, and Ruben (Tatiana) Zubia; her doting sisters, Rosa (Rogelio Jr.) Arroyo, Carla (Juan) Zubia, and Sylvia (Jose Jr. ) Martinez. Maria is preceded in death by her brother, Jose Zubia, and her grandson, German, both of whom she held dear in her heart.

Maria's interests were as warm and inviting as her smile. She found great joy in listening to Franco and other Spanish musicians, a passion that was the soundtrack to many family gatherings. Her presence on Facebook was one of positivity and connection, often sharing moments of her life and funny videos that would bring a smile to anyone's timeline. Maria was a devoted fan of the Hallmark channel and the timeless humor of the Golden Girls, finding comfort and laughter in their stories. Above all, her heart belonged to her family, cherishing every opportunity to spend time with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

As we bid farewell to Maria De Jesus Zubia, we are reminded of the warmth of her embrace, the kindness in her eyes, and the unyielding strength of her spirit. Her legacy of love, laughter, and family will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Maria's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, filled with moments that will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.

Maria's life will be celebrated with a service that honors her memory and the joy she brought into this world. As we gather to remember her, we will reflect on the countless ways she touched our lives and the unbreakable bond she forged with each person she met. Maria De Jesus Zubia will be profoundly missed, but her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

A Rosary service honoring Maria's life will be recited at 7pm, Monday, September 8, 2025 in Acres West 24 Hour Chapel.

Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences may be sent online to the family at acreswestfuneral.com.
