Maria was a native of Chatham County, born August 21, 1964. She was a 1982 graduate of Eastern Randolph High School. She later went on to obtain an associates degree in Dental Hygiene from GTCC, where she was the Valedictorian of her class. She accomplished this while raising her children and working; she had a strong sense of pride in that. She worked for many years at Ramseur Family Dentistry, but also had an extensive career in corporate dentistry. Maria was a member of Rushwood Community Church and had a deep love for reading the bible with her husband. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time and cooking for them. Maria enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, such as gardening and spending time outdoors. Mrs. Deaton was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Wilson.
