Ms. Corine Deaton, age 98, of Winder, affectionately known by her family as “Nene,” passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Gateway Gardens Assisted Living.
Ms. Deaton was a lifelong member of Chapel Christian Church then later attended Winder First Christian Church. Corine retired as a seamstress at Empire Manufacturing Plant. She dedicated her life as a caregiver. Her love language was serving others; every meal she cooked and every cake she baked was her expression of unconditional love. Ms. Deaton had an inseparable bond with her siblings and loved being a special aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Corine was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Allen Deaton and Reba Reynolds Deaton; and all of her siblings, Nathaniel (Helen) Deaton, James (Verla) Deaton, Ronald Eugene (Nora) Deaton, Bill Deaton, Verlyn Deaton, Bobby Joe (Helen) Deaton, Carolyn (Wayne) Holliday, and Peggy Deaton.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Jeannette Deaton of Marietta and Levender Deaton of Monroe; twelve nieces and nephews; a host of great nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Paulette Hill; along with the devoted nurses of Bristol Hospice and the caring staff of Gateway Gardens Assisted Living who became family to Corine.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2026 in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home with Mr. Mike Holliday officiating. Burial will follow the service at Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the service hour at Maddox Memorial Home.
Flowers are accepted for the funeral service of Ms. Deaton.
Maddox Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
