Maria D. Fusco AmsterdamMaria D. Fusco, 88, of DeStefano Street, passed away at the Wilkinson Healthcare Facility Thursday after a short illness. Born in Baranello Providence of Compasso, Italy on May 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Filomena Velotta Belli. She was educated in Italy and came to the U.S. in 1960. Mrs. Fusco was employed at Amsterdam Glove Co. retiring in 1980. She was united in marriage to Joseph Fusco; he passed away August 21, 2003. Survivors include one son, Joseph D. Fusco of Amsterdam; one brother, Vince Belli of Amsterdam; also nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Dominick Belli. Funeral services will be held 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from the DeStefano Funeral Home, Route 5S, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, June 17, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral home.
