It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria A. Garcia, a beloved mother, wife, and friend, who left us on September 16, 2025. Born on May 12, 1953, in Poteet, Texas, Maria spent her life nurturing those around her with kindness and warmth.

Maria dedicated 26 years of her life to Walmart, where she skillfully contributed to the bakery department. Her passion for cooking and baking extended beyond her work; she found joy in preparing delightful meals and treats for her family and friends. Maria's love for the outdoors shone brightly as she tended to her plants, creating a lush and inviting haven of greenery. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, from completing crossword puzzles to binge-watching her favorite Lifetime movies and the Food Network.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, George Garcia, Jr.; her children, Jeremy Garcia (Jennifer), Sarah Garcia, Nicholas Garcia and Orlando Garcia; grandchildren Xavier Garcia, Jeremy Garcia Jr., Jaiden Garcia, Mason Garcia and Larissa Gaitan; sisters Nelida Herrera, Selia Aldana, Angie Hernandez, Sylvia Hernandez, Analisa Aldana; and brother Ysmael Aldana. They will forever remember her nurturing spirit, her laughter, and the countless moments shared together as a family.

Visitation will held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the reciting of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home. Mass will be 10:00 am Friday, September 26, 2025 at St. Lukes Catholic Church.

Maria touched the lives of many, and she will be greatly missed. May her spirit continue to inspire love and kindness in all who knew her.

Maria was preceded in death by: father Simon Aldana, mother Francisca Aldana; and brother Liandro Aldana.
