Maria Nina Gentile

Maria "Nina" Gentile, 73, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023.
She is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Pratt (Macy Bourque); her 3 ½ pound chihuahua, Sophie; brother, Philip Gentile, Jr.; and three half siblings, Steven Gentile, Michael Gentile, and Jason Gentile.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Courtney Jane Pratt; father, Phil Gentile, Sr.; mother, Maria Gentile; and nephew, John Gentile.
Nina was born in 1950 in Southern California. She is the daughter of Maria Passarelli and Phil Gentile Sr. She was born into a large extended Italian family. Nina studied to become a Hellerwork practitioner. After moving to Louisiana in the late 1990s she taught at the Blue Cliff School of Massage and had her own private practice. She later furthered her studies to become a Doctor of Naturopathy. Nina was fulfilled in being able to help people with her expertise and wealth of knowledge.
Nina enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially celebrating Italian traditions. She absolutely loved going to the beach and was at peace by the water.
Her beloved dog Sophie, who went literally everywhere Nina went, provided much joy. In the past few years, Nina enjoyed Sunday family picnics on Zoom, with cousins from coast to coast. Nina was a devout Catholic and loved the Rosary. She always tried to put things in God's hands to guide her in life.
The greatest blessings of her life were her beautiful daughter Tiffany, her granddaughter Courtney, her brother Philip Jr., and her beloved parents. Nina and Tiffany had lots of fun together, whether it was traveling (to the beach), shopping, dancing, or just hanging out. A highlight for Nina was to have Tiffany's husband Macy join their family. Nina will be greatly missed and remembered by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Southern California.
