Maria Magdalena Mendez

Nuestra querida y amada madre, María Magdalena Méndez, murió esta tarde en el día del Señor, domingo 16 de Julio del 2023 en la ciudad de Tomball, Texas, los EEUU. Murió a los 80 años, rodeada por sus dos hijas, Mercy Wilson y Marta Alicia Portillo, y por el amor de su familia.
La hna. Magda, o abuelita Magda como le decían los que la conocieron y los que la han amado, peleó la buena batalla en esta vida, acabó su carrera fielmente, fue una gran mujer de fe, y ahora ha sido recibida por el Señor de la vida, nuestro Señor y salvador Jesús.
María Magdalena Méndez nació el 7 de septiembre de 1942, siendo amada por su padre y su madre que le preceden en vida, Manuel J. Méndez y Marta A. Méndez. Dos de sus hermanos también le preceden en vida, Miguel y Enrique Méndez, y le sobrevive su hermano menor, Ernesto Méndez.
Por 23 años de su vida se esforzó por cuidar de su hogar junto a su esposo que le precede en vida, Baltazar Antonio Gamero, y aunque los obstáculos de la vida no permitieron que su matrimonio continuará, el Señor les regaló tres maravillosos hijos, Mauricio Edgardo Gamero quien le precede en vida, y sus dos hijas que le sobreviven: Mercy Wilson, y Marta Alicia Portillo.
Le sobrevive una gran cantidad de familia que en este momento no podemos enumerar, primos y primas, sobrinos y sobrinas, nietos y nietas, hijos e hijas en la fe, por los que dedicó horas, días y semanas en oración pidiéndole a su Señor que también les tuviera compasión y les permitiera también a ellos gozarse del increíble regalo de conocer a Jesús como su Señor y salvador.
Aunque hay lágrimas en nuestros ojos, nuestros corazones se alegran por la increíble oportunidad que Dios nos dio de ser amados, cuidados, apoyados, y apapachados por esta increíble mujer de Dios. Que privilegio tener una valiente, fuerte y amorosa madre quien dio fiel testimonio del que ahora ya la ha recibido en sus brazos.
Añoramos verte nuevamente.
Our dear and beloved mother, María Magdalena Méndez, died this afternoon on the Lord's Day, Sunday July 16, 2023 in the city of Tomball, Texas, USA. She died at the age of 80, surrounded by her two daughters, Mercy Wilson and Marta Alicia Portillo, and by the love of her family.
Hermana ("sister") Magda, or Abuelita ("granny") Magda, as those who knew and loved her called her, fought the good fight in this life and finished her race faithfully. She was a great woman of faith, and now has been received by the Lord of life, our Lord and Savior, Jesus.
María Magdalena Méndez was born on September 7, 1942, being loved by her father and mother who preceded her in life, Manuel J. Méndez and Marta A. Méndez. Two of her brothers also precede her in life, Miguel and Enrique Mendez, and she is survived by his younger brother, Ernesto Méndez.
For 23 years of her life, she was diligent to care for her home with her husband who preceded her, Baltazar Antonio Gamero, and although life's obstacles did not allow their marriage to continue, the Lord gave them three wonderful children, Mauricio Edgardo Gamero who preceded her, and her two surviving daughters: Mercy Wilson, and Marta Alicia Portillo.
She is survived by a large number of family members who at this moment we cannot enumerate: cousins, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and sons and daughters in the faith, for whom she dedicated hours, days, and weeks in prayer asking her Lord to also show compassion on them and to allow them too to enjoy the incredible gift of knowing Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Although there are tears in our eyes, our hearts are filled with joy for the incredible opportunity that God gave us to be loved, cared for, supported, and pampered by this incredible woman of God. What a privilege to have a brave, strong, and loving mother who gave faithful witness to the One who has now received her into His arms.
