With deep sorrow and abiding faith, we announce the passing of our beloved Maria A. Mendoza, who went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 68. A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, treasured grandmother and great-grandmother. Maria lived a life rooted in love, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Born in Houston, TX, Maria was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. Maria found joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in promises of eternal life. She shared her faith through kindness, compassion, and unyielding trust in God's plan. Her home was a place of peace, her words a source of comfort, and her life a testimony of God's faithfulness. She found joy in worship, fellowship, and service at her church, Waelder Touch of Grace Ministry.
Maria was survived and missed by her loving husband Lucio Martinez; and by her children, San Juana Hallam, Katherine Garza, Daniel Garza (wife Debbie), and Simon Garza (wife Selerina). Forever cherished and remembered by her 11 grandchildren, Letishia Garza, Cassie Cruz, Alissa Garza, Tyler Garza, Makayla Garza, Devin Hallam, Kimberly Sanchez, Annalys Sanchez, Camilla Garza, Jonathan Garza, and Isabella Garza and her 10 great grandchildren. She is also remembered with love by her brothers Steve Ramirez (wife Beatrice), Herbert Ramirez, as well as her sisters Isabella Ramirez and Lupe Mathis.
Though we grieve her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now resting in the arms of her Savior, reunited with those who have gone before her, and rejoicing in eternal peace.
Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying..."
Private family services will be held.
