It is with deep sorrow, yet enduring gratitude, that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria (Toñita) Montoyo Serrano, who entered eternal rest at the age of 79. A devoted woman of God and a steadfast warrior for the Lord, Maria lived a life marked by faith, love, and joyful service.
Born on March 15, 1946, in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, Toñita was the heart and soul of her family-a caring wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and treasured friend. Her vibrant personality lit every room she entered. With a contagious laugh and a spirit full of life, she had a unique ability to lift others up, even in the most difficult times.
She was hardworking in all that she did-whether in her career or her church. Always willing to help those in need, Toñita gave freely of her time, wisdom, and compassion. Her unwavering faith was a guiding light to many, and she lived her life with the kind of strength and purpose that inspired all who knew her. To her family, she was the glue that held everyone together, a prayer warrior, a confidant, and a source of unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, resilience, and joy.
Toñita leaves to cherish the memories of her life, husband, Nelson Serrano; daughter, Katia Lopez-Hernandez; grandchildren, Daniel Hernandez Jr. and Gabriel J. Hernandez; as well as extended family and friends that will miss her dearly.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
