MARY NASTA, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed on at 99 years of age on March 31, 2023. Born to Salvatore and Angelina Giannettino on December 11, 1923, and given the name MARIA CONCETTA.
She was raised in Brooklyn, New York along with her three sisters and three brothers. She worked as a child in her father's bakery.
On November 28, 1943, she married Lover Boy Aniello F. Nasta. With him "ANDY or ANNIE" as she called him, she raised twin daughters, Louise and Roberta, and a son, Neil.
After her husband retired in 1981, they moved to Port Saint Lucie. A devoted Catholic, she attended mass regularly at Holy Family and, along with her sister Katherine, became known as the "can ladies" because they would regularly drive up to the church with a trunk full of canned goods to donate to the pantry.
She was an avid sewer and seamstress, happily mending clothes for family and friends. She created window treatments, bedspreads, drapes, dresses, and gowns. Knitting and crocheting were among her skills, and she provided her many grandchildren with sweaters, hats, and personalized blankets.
Mary is predeceased by her husband, Andy of 58 years, her brothers, Joseph, Freddie, and Danny, as well as her sisters Grace and Patricia. She is survived by her sister Katherine Scalesse.
To celebrate her life, she leaves her children: Louise, Roberta and Neil; her son-in-law Albee Cracolici and her daughter-in-law, Renee Nasta; 6 Grandchildren; Christopher & Craig Thomas, James & Justine Cracolici, Ashley Nasta & Taylor Bandru: 11 Great-Grandchildren, Abby, Jonathan, Domenica, & Madelana Cracolici; Albert, Enzo & Rosemarie Zaccaria, CeCe Nasta & Wyatt Bandru and Wade and Luke Thomas.
