Maria Ann Raspallo, 59, a beloved figure in her community and cherished member of her family, passed away peacefully at home in Cranston, Rhode Island, on December 6, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Born on August 13, 1966, in Providence, she was the beloved daughter of Deacon Thomas R. Raspallo, and the late Ann Marie (Peters) Raspallo. She was the wife of Deacon Scott Brown; they had been married for 27 years.

Maria’s educational journey was marked by a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in education, both earned at Rhode Island College. She dedicated her life to nurturing and educating young minds, working for many years in preschools and Catholic schools and while most recently teaching for many years in the Pawtucket School System. Her unwavering commitment to early childhood education was evident in every aspect of her work. Maria took great pride in laying a strong foundation for her students, ensuring they were well-prepared for the journey ahead. Any school event that required a costume saw her transform into a whirlwind of creativity, going above and beyond to create flawless ensembles that delighted both children and parents alike.

In addition to Maria's love of the creative, she was constantly working to help students outside of the classroom, as well. She was a consummate teacher and nurturer for all of her students.Maria was not only an exceptional teacher but also the mastermind behind family gatherings. With her adeptness at orchestrating events, she became the family's honored event coordinator, ensuring that every holiday, birthday, or spontaneous gathering was meticulously planned down to the last detail. These celebrated occasions were more than just events; they were opportunities for love and laughter, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever. Her yearly family day trips to Scarborough Beach stood out, where she would organize an elaborate feast that included a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The highlight was always the delicious pasta and meatballs shared with family and friends, making each beach trip extraordinary and memorable.

Maria leaves behind a legacy grounded in profound love, unwavering support, family traditions that are also reflected in her role as a devoted mother to her sons Matthew Brown and Jacob Brown. She was cherished sister of her brothers, Thomas S. Raspallo (Jaclyn), Richard D. Raspallo, and James M. Raspallo (Kate); and her treasured nephews and nieces by whom she was known as a "Best" Auntie Rhea establishing profoundly strong connections with: Michael, Thomas, James, Domenic, Teagan, Ava, Annabel and the late Gianna.
