A Resident of Schaumburg for 56 years
Visitation for Maria Rosalia Rowan, 85, will be Monday, April 15 from 9:00am – 11:00am at Michaels Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 800 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg, processing to 11:15am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1005 E. Schaumburg Road. Interment to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Maria was born January 17, 1939, in Palermo, Sicily, Italy to the late Rosa Campanelli, and she passed away peacefully April 5, 2024, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
She is fondly remembered for the love she had for her family. Her love knew no bounds, and she dedicated her life to ensuring the happiness and wellbeing of her loved ones. She created cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
If you ever had to look for Maria, you could always find her outside, admiring her garden full of flowers. Peony bushes and roses were her favorite.
Maria was the loving wife of 66 years to Floyd. Floyd's sister, Beverly, hand-picked Maria to go on a date out for pizza with him, and the rest is history.
Loving mother to David (Sue) Rowan and Regina (Marc) Bloom; beloved grandmother to Ryan, Tony, Ethan, and Dylan; cherished sister to Assunta Doniger; adored aunt to many nieces and nephews; loving in-law, dear friend, and neighbor to many. She is preceded in death by her brother Bruno Dispenza. May she rest in peace knowing her legacy continues through the lives she's touched.
