Maria Savala Obituary
Maria Elena Savala, age 78, of Devine, Texas, passed away on October 10, 2024, in San Antonio. Maria was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 20, 1946, to Geneva and Robert Martinez.
Maria is preceded in death by her children: Sylvin Ferdin, Yolanda Rodriguez, Hopie Velasquez, Robert Ferdin, and Venancio Ferdin, Jr.; parents: Robert and Geneva Martinez; brothers: Raul Martinez, and Jose Aguilar; sisters: Alice Cuellar, Gina Toscano, Martha Barajas, and Rose Alvarez.
Maria is survived by her husband: Jimmy Savala; sons: Jimmy Zavala, Anthony Zavala; daughters: Linda Ferdin, Connie Rivera, and Anna Ferdin; brother: Robert Martinez, Jr.; sisters: Eva Negrete, Rachel Chavez, and Guadalupe Crisanto; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Hondo Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Thursday, October 17, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
