Maria Alexandra Streight

Maria Alexandra "Alex" Tomos Streight passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She was born on May 31st, 1986, in Bucharest, Romania.
She was preceded in death by her mother in law, Carol Miller Streight, and her grandfathers Dobre Tudor and Alexandru Tomos.
She is survived by her husband Kevin, her son Alexander, her daughter Ella, her mother Andreia, her father Larry, her brother Mihnea, her grandmothers Mariana and Elena, her uncle Dani and aunt Simona, her uncle Adrian, her aunts Adriana and Mihaela, her beloved cousins Razvan, Bogdan, Claudia and Andrei, her father in law Steve and Susan, her brother in law Brian and his wife Dana, aunt Judy Miller, uncle Peter Buscemi, and many extended relatives and friends.
She married the love of her life, Kevin, on May 17, 2014 and together they welcomed a son Alexander Miller Streight and a daughter Ella Caroline Streight. She last resided in Fuquay Varina, NC.
Alex graduated from Meredith College with a bachelor degree in International Business and Finance. She spent many years in retail as a Buyer specialist and most recently managed large inventories for a popular auto parts chain. Alex was the owner of Cary Lifestyle Magazine between 2019 and 2021. She had an exceptional eye for style and detail, with a rare ability to curate looks and spaces that felt both effortless and elevated. Whether assembling the perfect outfit, selecting décor for her home, or choosing makeup palettes for a client, she had an intuitive sense of what worked best. She approached shopping like an art form, always knowing where to find the perfect item and how to bring everything together with polish and flair. Beyond her love of beauty and design, she was passionate about animal rights and had a soft spot for homeless cats and dogs, often advocating for their protection and care.
Alex was a light in this world, and she will always be admired for her strength, determination and love for her family.
Because of you Alex, we believe in angels and the afterlife and know that we will see you again one day. Because of you Alex, we know that love never dies.
