Maria Tamasi

Maria (Ciccagloine) Tamasi, age 86, of Medford passed away on Monday, June 10th, at Life Care Center of Stoneham. Born and raised in Carpinone, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Phillipo and Perina (Tamasi) Ciccagloine. Maria left Italy in the early 1960s, spending several years in Canada before settling in Medford in 1967. She was employed for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Maria enjoyed cooking, and loved throwing polenta parties for her family. She had a green thumb and could turn any patch of weeds into a magnificent garden. Most of all, Maria cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Maria was the beloved wife of Natale "Frank" Tamasi, and the devoted mother of John Tamasi and his wife Jennifer Mills-Tamasi, and Sandra Tamasi. She was the loving grandmother of Giovanni and Ava Tamasi, John Mello and his girlfriend Alison Ly, and Alex Kuren. She was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. Maria's family would like to extend a special thank you to the loving and dedicated nursing staff at Life Care Center of Stoneham where she has resided for the past five years.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, on Thursday, June 13th at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with Maria's family in the church from 9 AM through 10 AM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
