Maria Torres Obituary

For 25 years, she proudly worked as a custodian at Bowling Green State University. Maria was known for her incredible cooking, her passion for gardening, and her love for watching telenovelas; Mexican music and dancing also brought great joy to her life.
Maria's family was her everything. She and her husband Florencio Corral were together for 48 years and he survives her. She is also survived by her children: Bill Torres, Ernestina Torres, and Susan (Hal) Orwig; and her siblings, Jenny Martinez and Frankie Torres. She also raised Valerie Torres, Sara Gwin, and Gage Myers as her own-and she leaves behind many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Manuella Torres; children: Joseph Torres, Daniel Torres Sr., Maria Bowley; and siblings: Santos, Amelia, Paul, and John.
Contributions in her honor may be gifted to the Alzheimer's Association.
Visitation for Maria will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 4:00 until the time of a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, Bowling Green. A funeral service will take place on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Maria will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.

Maria was a very caring lady. We work in BGSU together. We would eat together in my office. Talk about all kinds of things. She loved her children so much. Sorry of your loss Susie and the rest of her kids. God Bless
