Maria Magdalina Treto

With deep sorrow the family announce the passing of Maria Treto, who was born in Cuba as Maria Magdalena De La Puente and emigrated to the United States at a young age in search of new opportunities and a better future.
In New York, she married Pedro Treto, with whom she built a home filled with love, hard work, and dedication. Throughout her life, Maria faced painful trails, including the early loss of her son Harry and, years later, the passing of her husband, Pedro. Yet her strength, resilience, and profound love for life allowed her to remain steadfast, offering an example of courage and inspiration to all who knew her.
Maria lived an honorable life, marked by perseverance, hard work, and unwavering generosity. Her legacy endures in every memory, every act of kindness, and every life she touched with her warmth and resilient spirit.
Today, we say farewell to an extraordinary woman whose light will forever remain in the hearts of her family and loved ones. May God receive her into His glory and grant her eternal rest.
Mrs. Treto was survived by three caregivers, Andrea Witherspoon, of West Jefferson, Gilda Hernandez Bavtista and Adela Hernandez Bavtista, both of Jefferson; a nephew, Carlos Akira de la Puente Abreu.
Entombment services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 2:30pm at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel.
