Maria Ulloa Obituary
Maria was born and raised In the Imperial Valley. She dedicated many years of service to The United States Post Office in Washington State and New Mexico before retiring. After retirement, she made her home in Antonito, where she found joy in caring for her pets and doing projects around her house and in her yard. She enjoyed walking around her town collecting rocks and just creating the perfect place for herself.
Maria was known for her strength, independence, and her determination to not only stand up for herself but also for the rights of others. She had a fearless and adventurous spirit - she loved driving to visit family, cruises, roller coasters, sliding down sand dunes, and soaring on zip lines.
She was preceded in death by her parents Tomas and Julia Ulloa; her brother, Robert Ulloa; her sister Theresa Cavins; and her grandson Ivan Robert Head.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Higgins (Rich); granddaughters Alex Head and Violet Higgins; three great-grandchildren, Alice, Ivan and Hunter; siblings Lalo; Bartie Stapleton (Don); Juan (Rosie); Pete (Bev); Tomas (Mary Ellen); and Blanca Barela (Gil).
A Rosary will be held at 8:30 a.m. followed by a mass at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in El Centro, California. A reception will follow at St. Mary's Church at St. Gregory Hall.
