Salomon Gilbert Garcia

Salomon G Garcia of Centennial, Colorado died on July 17, 2025 following a long illness. Salomon was born in Del Norte, CO on November 11, 1946. He graduated from Creighton University and Creighton Medical School in Ohama, Nebraska. His specialty was Gastroenterology and he had a passion for his chosen field. He had a gift for listening and took a special interest in his patients, not only in their aliments but in them personally. He started his career in Ohama and moved to Denver and had his own private practice until he retired at the age of 70. He had a wide range of interests. He enjoyed gardening and created and maintained a magnificent yard; collected arrowheads and rocks and minerals; discussing and speaking Valley Spanish; listening to Baroque music; and feeding the squirrels in his backyard. He spoke formal English and had a special interest in words, always adding to his vocabulary and that of others. He is survived and missed by his wife of 49 years, Rhonda Zepf Garcia; his children Adam, Jonathan, and Anna Garcia; daughters-in law Debani Pirkle and Liz McIntosh-Garcia; sister Maria Elena Garcia Aaronson; nephew Ryan Basil; special Cousin Laura Chavez Gomez; brother-in law Cortland Zepf; and brother-in law and sister-in law Welden and Kathy Zepf; as well as many Garcia and Salazar cousins. He is pre-deceased by his parents Gilberto Garcia and Eva Salazar Garcia; infant daughter Melissa, and sister Patricia Ann Garcia. A Rosary will be held on Thursday July 24th at 6 pm at our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Conejos , CO and a funeral mass on Friday July 25th at 10 am. Burial will follow at the Ortiz Cemetery. In-lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
