It is with a heavy heart that we announce the untimely passing of Maria Julianna Vega, on February 12th, 2025, 54 years young, born October 20th, 1970. In August of 1991, Maria wed her husband, Antonio Vega (57). After struggling to conceive, Maria brought four children into this world; Sarah (32), Samantha (28), Gabriella (26), and Zacharia (14). Maria was a beloved mother and her endless support, guidance and love will continue to live down for generations to come. In January of 2018, Maria became a grandmother for the first time to Vera Leigh Arias (7). Shortly after, In January of 2025, Maria became a grandmother once again; this time to one month old Amaia Angel Ulerio. Maria poured all of her love and energy into being not only a mother, but an amazing grandmother. She loved her grandchildren dearly and spoke of them with the utmost admiration. Maria is not only survived by her husband, children and grandchildren, but also her 6 siblings whom she shared an unconditional bond with- Rose, Jasmine, Joanna, Vivian, Echa, and Peter. She also leaves behind her parents- Patricia Rodriguez and Joe Rodriguez.
In addition to being an inspirational part of her family's lives; Maria was also a beloved friend and colleague to many. Maria obtained a college education from Katherine Gibbs College with a focus on business administration. Maria was a phlebotomist and manager of the blood drawing room at Methodist Hospital located in NYC, where she dedicated 20 years of her life to the field. Maria was a faithful Catholic and spent the majority of her free time giving grace to the Lord. She enjoyed listening to Gospel music and praising the Lord who she acknowledged as her Saviour. Maria lived in the glory of the Lord and passed her faith down to all she encountered. Her love was endless and it is with no doubt that she has found peace in the heavens.
Maria also enjoyed cooking for her family and maintaining a clean and clear space for everyone to live comfortably. She loved to shop and spent much time browsing through Coach and Michael Kors catalogs. Maria always presented herself with much dignity and grace. Maria was truly an angelic soul. Her contributions to the life she leaves behind will continue to flourish. Her love is timeless and her memory will live on forever. To know Maria was to love Maria. As the Bible reads in John 11:25-26; "Jesus told her, I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die". Amen.

My beautiful sister since you departed our lives have changed. Everyone in the family miss you every day. I keep your memories cherished in my heart! Your kindness and compassion resides in our hearts. We get to see things you bestowed on your children, each one of them brings a certain memory of you to us. You reside in my heart until the day we meet again. As I mentioned above your passing has indelibly changed our lives and how much we wish you were still here with us. Our tears continue to fall and there isn't a day we do not think of you. Even though you earned your wings and crossed over you will always be in my heart forever! Always on our mind and forever in our hearts! We love you beautiful!

Missing You So Much Daughter
You left us brokenhearted
Not knowing what to do
But now we find such comfort
In memories of you

The legacy you left us
Was of happiness and love
And that shines on forever
From glorious skies above

You brought joy and beauty
From the moment of your birth
Now in Heaven
You're an Angel
Just as you were on Earth

Always in our hearts, Mom and Dad

In Loving Memory of Our Wonderful Sister
Of all the special gifts in life, however great or small to have you as our Sister was the greatest gift of all.

May the winds of love blow softly and whisper in your ear, "We love and miss you Sister and wish that you were here."

Deep in our hearts, your life is kept to love and cherish, not forget. No more tomorrows we can share but yesterday's are always there.
A silent thought, a secret tear keeps your memory ever near in our hearts forever.

Sisters, Rosemary, Joann, Yazmin (Muneca), Maritza, and Vivian and Brother, Peter

I first met Maria in 2021 after we became next door neighbors. Since then we've established a sweet friendship . I enjoyed time chatting with Maria over the back yard fences , our occasional dinner get togethers at each other's house, an occasional game night, eclipse watching on the front lawn, swapping little gifts back and forth with encouraging notes, and encouraging texts whether on a holiday, birthday, or just maybe sending a Bible verse or song that inspired us back and forth. As the tribute on this page says, to know Maria was to love her. She had a sweet spirit, always gracious and praising God no matter the struggles she was going through, and always so full of pride for her growing family. I will remember a beautiful friend when I think of Maria, who always had a kind smile. I will miss her dearly and was blessed to know her.
