Marian Butler Obituary

Marian Butler passed away at the age of 95 on September 25, 2024, at the Spanish Peaks Hospital in Walsenburg, Colorado. She had been living in the Spanish Peaks Veterans Living Center for the past three years. She and her husband Ray lived in La Veta, Colorado from 2002 to 2008 when Ray passed away. They had lived in Omaha, Nebraska for forty years and chose La Veta as their retirement haven. Marian and Ray loved La Veta and were very active in the Methodist Church and in La Veta High School where they were great fans of the volleyball and basketball teams. Marian loved to sing and had a beautiful voice, gracing church choirs in Omaha and La Veta. She continued singing at the Veterans Center, livening up activities there. Marian is survived by her sons and their wives and children: Michael and Mary Jane Butler of Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico and their son Jason of Winter Park, Colorado, and David and Janet Butler of Santa Fe, New Mexico and their son William of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The family will have a private memorial service.
