Marian B. Dedering, 95, of Kiel, passed away September 12, 2025 at Sycamore Lodge. Marian was born February 20, 1930, in Sheboygan, to the late Edgar and Esther (Goetsch) Gumm. She was a graduate of Haven Public School. Marian found love at first sight and was united in marriage to Gilbert Dedering on September 11, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2023. She was a homemaker and raised her family as well as babysitting for many family members, friends and neighbors.

Family was extremely important to Marian and she cherished the time she got to spend with them. She was also an avid baker, enjoying doing embroidery, word puzzles, and playing cards, especially Sheepshead. Marian was a long-time member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir for many years, was a member of the Women's Guild and served as the Assistant Treasurer for Sunday School.

Marian is survived by her daughter, Barbara Vorpahl, Eau Claire; her son, Roger (Janise) Dedering, Kiel; her five grandchildren, Scott (Kelly) Vorpahl, Steven (Jennifer) Vorpahl, Michelle (Eric) Voland, Kim (Corey) Stoeckigt and Jason Gordon; her eight great-grandchildren, Janessa and Daxton Vorpahl, Kira and Zachary Vorpahl, Kaylee and Gavyn Voland and Dominic and Everett Stoeckigt. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Lydia Dedering, son-in-law, Richard Vorpahl, brothers and sister, Robert (Lorraine) Gumm, Milton (Loretta) Gumm and Violet (Conrad) Rausch, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Betty) Dedering, Mildred (Charles) Balkwell and Shirley (Arden) Mogensen, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Per Marian's wishes, cremation has taken place and a service for her will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025 at St. Peter's United Church of Christ (424 Fremont Street, Kiel) with Rev. Nicole Herda officiating. Burial will follow at Kiel Belitz Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m.

The family would like to thank Aimee and all the staff at Sycamore Lodge. They would also like to extend a big thank you to Calumet County Hospice and Pastor Nicole Herda.
