Marian Langford, age 82, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away on December 15, 2023, in Wills Point. She was born on September 13, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas. Marian was a beloved member of the community and will be deeply missed by her many special and dear friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her father, Marion Phillips; mother, Hazel Phillips; husband, Benny L. Langford; and daughter, Jennifer Lynn Langford. She is survived by her many special and dear friends.
Marian had an impressive educational background. She graduated from Newton High School, Class of 1959. She went on to receive a bachelor's degree in secondary education from East Texas Baptist College. Marian furthered her education with a Post Graduate certification in Special Education from East Texas State. During her time at East Texas Baptist College, she served as President in the History Theater in Kansas Missouri and received the SEA award for outstanding student. Marian was also a member of the Teacher Sorority: Zeta Tau Alpha.
Marian dedicated her career to teaching. She worked at Wills Point ISD for over 25 years and continued to serve as a substitute teacher after her retirement in 1997. While teaching at Wills Point ISD, Marian coached UIL Ready Writing and was a member of the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
Marian was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Wills Point. She found solace and community in her faith.
Outside of her professional life, Marian had a love for animals. She enjoyed spending time with them and caring for their well-being.
Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas, is assisting the family with the arrangements. A visitation is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023, with a funeral service following beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home, located at 205 Corky Boyd Ave., Wills Point, Texas.
