MARIAN CRISP LORENSEN, sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother of Roy, Utah, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter on August 26, 2025, at the age of 97. She was born in Spring City, Utah, on November 28, 1927, to George Thomas and Ferril Margaret Crisp, the third of eleven children.

She spent her youth on the family farm west of Spring City, Utah. She attended Spring City Elementary and North Sanpete High School in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, graduating with her class in 1946. After graduating, she moved to Ephraim, Utah, where she worked as a telephone operator. She met and married Coy Dee Rosquist on July 6, 1948, in the Manti Utah Temple. Together, they had six children: Mary Ann (Dennis) Kirkland, Roy, Utah; Louise (Dennis Deceased) Bergener, Kimberly, Idaho; Cheryl Rosendahl, Peoria, Arizona; Ruth Jha, Centennial, Colorado; Paula Anderson, Centerfield, Utah; and Devon (Lisa) Rosquist, Newalla, Oklahoma. She and Coy were later divorced. After many years of living alone, she met and was sealed to V. Glendel Lorensen, in the Manti Utah Temple.

Mom spent many years working hard to provide for her family. She was an amazing cook and provided excellent meals to the student body at Snow College as the Director of Food Services. In 1983, she was awarded “Outstanding Female Employee” by Snow College’s Chapter of Utah Public Employees’ Association.

Mom was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, showing compassion and love in all she was asked to do. She and Glendel served a temple mission in the Sydney Australia Temple. She was very prepared for this calling because of her many years of service as an ordinance worker in the Manti Utah Temple. After her sweet husband passed away in March of 1993, she moved to Roy, Utah, and once again served in the Ogden Utah Temple. When she could no longer physically attend the temple, she began crocheting altar cloths for the new temples being built. Her heart was full of joy to receive letters from temple presidents around the world, thanking her for her service.

With her testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and her love of God, she passed peacefully into their loving arms, leaving behind her six children and her two youngest brothers, Ted Crisp of Texas, and Thomas Crisp of Spring City, Utah. Also, 22 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, and another one is expected this month.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ferril, her siblings, Richard Crisp, William Crisp, Colleen Paxman, Dorothy Forbes, Rozella Bosh, Phyllis Crisp, Morris Crisp, and Donald Crisp, a great-grandson, Connor A. Kirkland, and a great-granddaughter, Melanie Ruth Jha.

Funeral Services will be held on September 3, 2025, at the Magleby’s Mortuary in Richfield, Utah, at 11:00 AM, with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Internment will be at the Vermillion Cemetery following the service.
