Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and dear friend Cherrill Kendall Anderson finished her work here on earth and joined her sweetheart Merril on October 27, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born April 26, 1941 the second child of George Weldon Kendall and Hannah Morley Kendall.
Cherrill had a wonderful childhood growing up with many friends and cousins in Moroni, Utah. She went to Moroni High School and later North Sanpete High School where she graduated as Valedictorian in 1959. She met Merril Anderson at the Old Bungalow Dance Hall in Moroni in 1958. They were married February 5, 1960, in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple.
Merril and Cherrill made their home for 40 years in the Academy Park neighborhood of West Valley City, Utah. There they raised their four children and Cherrill served diligently in many callings in the LDS church, serving as Relief Society President twice. Merril and Cherrill later moved to South Jordan where they were members of the Glenmoor 10th Ward and made many friends during their time there. In 2021, she moved into the Legacy Retirement Residence where she made many new friends and enjoyed the many activities and programs there. She loved doing family history and was engaged in indexing for many years. As a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, mom loved the friendships she formed there.
Mom's greatest joy was her family. She was always planning and looking forward to the next family gathering and she loved a party. She and Merril loved hosting the entire family for a turkey barbecue. She was also an excellent seamstress and made many beautiful quilts and dresses for her daughters and granddaughters. If anything needed to be hemmed or repaired, or a boy scout patch sewn on, mom was eager to help. She was a great cook and showed love to friends and neighbors by baking pies and making cookies and brownies to take to them.
Cherrill is survived by her children, Ellen (Russ) Bulloch, Paula (Brad) Fitt, Blaine (Jennifer) Anderson, Jill (Joel) Pilling, Brothers Garth (Becky) Kendall, and Bert (Sharon) Kendall, sister Janine (Sheldon) Shaw, 15 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Merril, her parents, and her brother Perry.
Services will be held Monday, November 3, 2025 at 11:00 am at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah.
