Marian Ann Carroll Mitchell, 79, widow of the late Ellis Arnold Mitchell, died Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Avalon Health and Rehabilitation.

Born March 14, 1946, in College Park, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Floyd Carroll and the late Margaret Virginia Clay Carroll. Marian was a member of the Miracle Tabernacle Family Worship Center. There, she not only nurtured her own spiritual growth but also taught her family the importance of loving Jesus. Marian was a well-known designer of silk floral arrangements. Her creative touch brought beauty and joy to many. She was a wonderful cook, known especially for her Sunday dinners, which were a weekly highlight for family and friends. Marian cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren, creating many treasured memories. She enjoyed traveling and savoring the experience of going out to eat at different restaurants. Marian also enjoyed fishing and found peace and contentment by the water.

Survivors include her sons, Keith Allen Mitchell, Scott A. Mitchell (Tania), and Ellis Dewayne Mitchell; brother, Michael F. Carroll; and grandchildren, Alexandria Rose Mitchell, and Mary Elizabeth Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
