Marian Dorothy Scott

Marian D. Scott, 97, of Pine Bush, NY, passed away peacefully at home on June 18, 2025, after a brief illness. Marian was born on January 26,1928, in Rutherford, NJ, to Adam Papuga Sr. and Eleanor Sarna Papuga. She grew up in Wallington, NJ, and later Pine Bush, NY, where she attended and eventually graduated from Pine Bush High School.
Marian had a long career with the United States Postal Service, serving as a clerk in Pine Bush, Middletown before serving as Postmaster, first in Westtown and finally in Pine Bush. She retired in 2004 and enjoyed travel, spending time with her cats, and playing pinochle at the Pine Bush Library. Marian is survived by her daughter, Katheen Scott of Plainfield, NJ, nieces and nephews, including Robert Rucinski of Pine Bush and Thomas Rucinski of Paramus, NJ, and several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held at Dewitt-Martinez Funeral Home, 64 Center St., Pine Bush on Monday, June 23rd, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will occur on Tuesday, June 24th at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Infant Savior in Pine Bush. Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pine Bush Library in her memory.
