Diana L. Read passed away peacefully in her sleep from natural causes on Saturday, May 25, 2025, in the early morning hours, with her beloved cats by her side and her husband nearby.
She is survived by her husband, Walter H. Read Jr., and their children: Bronwyn Read, along with her children, Nolan and Gwendolyn Paveglio; Walter H. Read III and his wife, Melissa Read; and Collin M. Read and his wife, Yasmim, along with their children, Lucas and Eloiza. Diana is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law: Mark and Pat Read (Tanner) and their son, Ryan; Craig and Marianne Read and their son Shawn Read; Rory and Mary Read and their children, Jonathan, Alexander, Kevin, and Sarah Kate; and Heather and Louis Barker and their children, Ian, Kaeleigh, Torin, and Kennis.
Diana had many friends, including her best friends, Marcella Danko and Tanyin Soeu, and their husbands.
A vibrant and spirited individual, Diana radiated joy and was a friend to all. She lived for her family, demonstrating her love through her exceptional cooking skills-able to recreate any dish simply by taste. In her youth in Taiwan, Diana was a nightclub dancer, hosted a radio and TV show, was a member of the International Women's Association, owned a travel agency, and was actively involved in politics. Upon moving to the United States, she dedicated her life to her husband and family, pouring her energy into creating a beautiful home through gardening and decoration.
The visitation will be held at Dewitt- Martinez Funeral Home, 64 Center St. Pine Bush on Friday, June 20th, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will occur on Saturday, June 21st, beginning at 9:30 AM at Dewitt-Martinez Funeral Home, followed by a procession to Walker Valley Cemetery.
If you have any questions or requests, please contact her husband, Walter, who will honor her wishes regarding this matter.
