Marian L. Shields

West Boylston – Marian Louise Shields, 71, passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2026.

Marian was born in Fitchburg on September 7, 1954, a daughter of the late Emmett and Mary (Scanlon) Shields. She loved starting her daily routine by going to the Day Program in Sterling. She always enjoyed listening to music, activities and spending time with her friends and family at her home in West Boylston with her three friends Mary Pat, Tracy, and Gerry. In the 35 years of living on Foster Street Marian has made special bonds and always appreciated the love and support of the residents and caretakers, including Jennifer, Debbie, and Andy along with many others involved with Marian's Care.

She is survived by her loving siblings, Eileen "Dee" Badagliacca, Thomas Shields, and John Shields and his wife Jodee; nieces and nephews, Kathy Miccile, Stephen Shields, Ann Proctor, Thomas Shields, Daniel Shields, Karen Pietila, Kim Graustein, Marylou Gaudet, Joanne Madigan; many great nieces and nephews.

Marian was predeceased by her brother Richard Shields and sister Mary "Pat" Pietila, nieces Susan McCallister and Nancy Ray, nephews Richie Shields, Johnny Shields, Jimmy Badagliacca and great nephews Craig and Nic Madigan.

Calling hours will be held in the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg on Thursday, January 22 from 9:00am to 10:30am. Marian's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am in Saint Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg, followed by burial in Saint Bernard's Cemetery.
