Marian Thies Obituary

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 6, 1954, Marian was the daughter of Edward Schrauder, Margaret (Dirr) Schrauder Lindhorst, and William Lindhorst.
She was a retired Administrative Assistant at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati. Marian was a member of the Queen City Villagers, the McAuley High School McLunch Bunch, and the Mt. Washington Recreation Center. She was an enthusiastic collector of all things related to frogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Edward C. Schrauder Jr., stepdaughter Jennifer Loos, and her beloved dog Patches. Marian is survived by her husband of 49 memorable years, Robert Thies; stepchildren Celeste (Jerry) Keeney, Genevieve Thies (Colin) Conroy, Marie Thies, and Terence (Jeannette) Thies; brothers James (Nancy) Schrauder, Robert (Kathleen) Schrauder, and Frank (Jennifer) Lindhorst; sisters Joyce Harmon, Anna Florence, and Margaret (Jeff) Carrico; grandchildren Jonathon Loos, Katherine Cirksena, Claire Loos, Nigel Conroy, Sam Conroy, Danielle MacAdams, Zachary Keeney, Maxwell Keeney, Matthew Thies, Christian Thies, Megan Thies, and Mackenzie Thies; four great-grandchildren; beloved friend Tammy Wagner; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Marian's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her caretakers: Marge Carrico, Celeste Keeney, Tammy Wagner, and Marie Thies, as well as the compassionate advocates at Hospice of Cincinnati.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, May 9, 2025, at Dobbling Funeral Home, located at 106 N. Ft. Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, KY 41075. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 26 E. Villa Pl., Fort Thomas, KY 41075. Burial following the Mass will occur at St. Stephen Cemetery, 1523 Alexandria Pike, Fort Thomas, KY 41075.

While visiting Mare at her home, during her in-home hospice care days, I stood in the kitchen while her care givers were giving medication. Looking out the window, I prayed, asking God to let Mare "Catch a glimpse" of what HE had waiting for her; to give her some sign that HE had fulfilled HIS PROMISE, and had a place prepared for her. Within seconds, I heard my sister say, "Who's that knocking?" In that moment, I knew GOD had answered my prayer for Mare, so I hurried to her side, completely convinced Mare also knew WHO Was Knocking!
