Mark Joseph Seger, PhD, 43, of Highland Heights, KY passed away on August 30, 2025. Mark was born

May 12, 1982, in Fort Thomas, KY to Charles and Rita Seger. Mark grew up with a love for heavy

metal/rock and rap music, the Cincinnati Bengals, and jokes, both practical and otherwise. He

appreciated a good laugh and getting a rise out of people and would enjoy it when you gave it right

back… that was his love language.

Mark received his Bachelor's degree from Northern Kentucky University and his Doctorate in Organic

Chemistry from the University of Kentucky. Through his best friend Eric Noble, he met his wife Jennifer,

and they were married for 11 years. Together, they traveled, attended various concerts and sporting

events, and adopted dogs, including their most recent litter of Max, the Labrador, Bella, the

Labradoodle, and Sunny, the Toy Poodle. They also lived in Chicago on beautiful Lake Michigan for

almost a decade before returning to the Bluegrass State.

Mark worked as a chemist and scientist for his career, most recently for Iofina Chemical in Covington,

KY, where he introduced a new group of colleagues to his wit and wry humor. He will be missed, he was

loved, and we thank everyone for their outpouring of support.

Mark is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Lahner) Seger, their dogs Maxwell, Bella, and Sunny, parents

Charles and Rita (Wehage) Seger, brother Charles (Lindsey) Seger, sister Rebecca (Eric) Langevin, nieces

and nephews, Wyatt, Caroline, Olivia, Travis, and Adam, and countless other family members and

friends.

A Memorial Service and Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025

at the Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home located at 427 S. Fort Thomas Ave. Fort Thomas, KY.
