Mike Swango

Mike Swango, 67, of Dayton, KY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY.

Mike was originally from Indiana. He attended Highlands High School and then went on to graduate from NKU with a BA in English. Mike was a lover of his grandkids, trivia, dogs, music, photography, cooking and most of all hanging out with friends. He was a four time groom, four time ex-husband.

A long time resident of Dayton, his lifelong work were hobbies at his beloved home: gardening and home renovation. He was a man of many careers including graphic design, managing an auto detail shop, apprenticing as a carpenter, and cameraman for the (then) Florence Freedom.

Mike was born August 28, 1957 in Washington, IN to the late Harry Beall Swango, Jr. & Jackie Donette (nee: Burns) Swango. He was preceded in death by his parents & his sister, Kim Engelhart.

Mike is survived by his daughters, Monica (Steve Seyberth) Swango, Mary Ann (Drew Richards) Blau, Michelle (Justin Kimmons) Blau, surrogate daughter, Ashley (Matt) Missler, devoted partner, Robbin Benson, sisters, Beverli (Bruce) Karlson, Kathi (David) Klein, six grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.

Visitation 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, 427 South Ft. Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, KY 41075. Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 South Loop Rd., Edgewood, KY 41017.
