Mariann Markfelder, beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend, lost her battle to the side effects of cancer treatments at her home on September 4th, 2025, at the age of 66.
Born on February 18th, 1959, Mariann was the cherished daughter of Alfred and Madeline Markfelder, and loving sister to Thomas Markfelder. She grew up in Central Islip, where she built a life time of memories surrounded by family and friends.
Mariann spent many years working at Olympus, where her dedication, warmth , and reliability left a lasting impression on all who worked with her. But it was her love for her family that truly defined her life.
Known for her warm smile and vibrant personality, Mariann brought joy to everyone around her. She had heart full of love and was always thinking of others. She especially loved the holidays, often delighting her family with her homemade desserts and appetizers, and experimenting with new recipes to make each gathering special. She enjoyed putting together puzzles and playing solitaire.
Mariann was dearly loved by her brother Thomas, her sister-in-law Sandra, her nephews Gregory and David, David's wife Mary Grace, and her niece Kristen. She was excited to meet her soon to be grandniece.
Mariann's warmth, and loving spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations ne made in Mariann's memory to the American Cancer Society, Honoring her strength and compassion.
Please consider a donation as requested by the family.
