Marianne Koltz, age 88, of Allouez, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with family by her side. She was born on November 8, 1936, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to the late Carlton O. and Harriet M. (Clarke) Bender. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy High School, Class of 1955.
Marianne was united in marriage to James Koltz on June 4, 1960, at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Green Bay. Their marriage spanned 54 years until James's passing in 2014. After graduation, Marianne was an operator with the telephone company in Green Bay and subsequently spent many years as a devoted wife and mother.
Marianne is survived by her daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” (Philip) Fox; three grandchildren: Matthew, Julia, and Andrew; sisters-in-law, Rita Koltz, Kathy Kiley; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. “Jim”; her son James C. “Jimmy”; and her infant daughter, Mary Jane Koltz; her brothers, Clarke (Jane), Robert, and Richard (Elaine) Bender; as well as sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy (Ray) Kiley, Marian (Tom) Kiley, Judith (Lee) McDermid, George (Ruth), Frank (Nancy), and Richard Koltz.
Visitation will be held at St. Matthew Parish (130 St. Matthew St., Green Bay, WI) on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Fr. Bob Kabat as the celebrant. Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to charities in Marianne's name are appreciated.
