Marianne Torsiello, a resident of Pompton Plains, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, surrounded by the love and care of her family.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Marianne was one of three children of the late Charles and Nancy Garske (née Alto). It was in Brooklyn where she met the love of her life, Joseph Torsiello. The couple married in 1968 and soon after moved to Staten Island, where they spent 13 wonderful years. They later settled in New Jersey, where they raised their family and built a life filled with love and lasting memories.

Marianne had a passion for crocheting and knitting, and found great joy in cooking for her family. She could cook just about anything-and it was always from memory, never with a recipe.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Torsiello; her two children, Christine Keaveney and her husband Patrick, and Joseph Torsiello and his wife Coleen; her grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin, William, Madison, Nicholas, and Emma; and her sister, Lois Galvin. Marianne was predeceased by her brother, Charles Garske, and her parents, Charles and Nancy Garske.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Our Lady of the Magnificat Church in Kinnelon. A Funeral Mass will follow immediately, with interment to take place in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marianne's memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
