Funeral service for Marie Jackson Barker will take place at the Shiloh Baptist Church of Hamburg on Saturday, November 29th, 2025 beginning at 11:00am with Rev. Gayle Carter officiating. Burial will take place at the Shiloh Baptist Cemetery.
Marie Baker, age 77, passed away at the Valley View Nursing Home of Marksville on Friday, November 21st, 2025. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, William Barker; children, Lakesha Barker Fountain (J.R.), Brittany Barker, and Dwane Arndrell Jackson (Ashley); siblings, Shirley Turner (Kevin), Julie Johnson (Gregory), Thelma Jackson, J.C. Jackson (Myrtle), and James Jackson (Wanda). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Davondrae Jackson, Arndrell Young, Zachary Peterson, Jaslynn Fountain, and Kameron Stelly; and her 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Jackson; parents, Clarence, Sr. & Mary Helen James Jackson; brothers, Leonard “Coot” Jackson and Clarence Jackson, Jr.
Visitation will begin at 9:00am at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Hamburg on Saturday, November 29th, 2025 until time of funeral service.
