Marie J. Bash, 77, of Iron Mountain passed away on Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center - Dickinson.
She was born on July 21, 1946, in Chicago, IL, to the late John and Evelyn (Hansen) Steger. On Oct. 10, 1987, Marie was married to David Bash. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2008. Marie was an extremely loving and patient woman. Her children were her entire world. She had no favorites and each of them could do no wrong in her eyes. When Marie's health was better, she enjoyed reading and riding her bike. She also enjoyed watching golf, watching her stories, and occasionally working in a bit of gaming. Marie will be remembered for her golden heart and gentle touch.
Marie will be missed by her 6 children, Mary Yott (Trent Pounders), Joe Yott (Lisa Schuls), Jeanette Yott, Guy Yott, David (Elizabeth) Bash, and Matt Childers (fiance, Sabre Comeaux); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Phil (Flora) Steger, Nancy Steger, Rob Steger; and many other family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Marie is preceded in death by a son, John Childers, her first husband, Jerrold Yott, and sister, Janet Dolatowski.
Visitation will be at Evangelical Covenant Church, 120 O Dill Dr., from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, with Rev. Jim Danielson officiating the funeral service at 2:00pm.
Marie's children would like to thank her sister, Nancy, for taking care of her for the last few years.
