Marie Christofano
Marie (Pugliese) Christofano, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday December 8, 2025, at RegalCare in Quincy, MA, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late John J. Christofano.
Born July 7, 1935, in Waterbury, CT, Marie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Accarino) Pugliese. She was a 1950 graduate of Wilby High School, graduating third in her class, and worked for Colonial Bank from 1950 through 1964. She later worked for The City of Waterbury Food Service Department from 1985 until her retirement in 2009. Over the years, she became a familiar and cherished presence in several school cafeterias including those in Wilby High School, Kingsbury Elementary, and North End Middle School.
Marie will be fondly remembered for her kindness, radiant smile, signature red lipstick, wonderful sense of humor, and remarkable knowledge of the latest pop culture. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, and cousin, whose warmth touched everyone she met.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet Christofano and her partner, Jesse Bates of New York, NY, and Karen DiGravio and her husband, Vic DiGravio of Milton, MA, with whom Marie made her home after leaving Waterbury; her beloved granddaughter, Anna DiGravio Doherty, and her husband Michael Doherty, of Charlestown, MA; and her beloved grandson, Vicker DiGravio, of New York, NY.
Marie's family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff at RegalCare for the exceptional care they provided to Marie over the past four years.
